Calzowned has really been shining since the holidays. For last night’s raid we decided it was time turn our sights to A’lar for a full night of work on this encounter. It took us a few tries to get our execution in order, and on the 8th attempt, A’lar was downed with only 1 death.

This kill was particularly satisfying to me, huge thanks to everyone and excellent work by all! Hydross is next!

It’s been a while since we tried Lurker Below, so we decided to give it another shot last night. After our first attempt, it was pretty obvious that he was going to go down and we dropped Lurker on our 2nd attempt. We’ll be setting our sights on Hydross next!

This past Sunday Calzowned headed into The Eye with our eyes set on High Astromancer Solarian.  It was our first attempts on Solarian so we only expected to begin to get to know the High Astromancer.  However, after our second attempt, it was obvious to me that Solarian would be going down that very night, and she did!

Congrats to the loot winners and congrats to Calzowned on another first kill!

With patch 2.3 bringing us new treats in the form of a new 10 man raid instance, Calzowned has already been making steady strides in this new zone. Although many have been out of town due to the recent holidays, we have already had a few forays inside the ancient Troll grounds of Zul’Aman.

We have already downed Nalorakk, Akil’zon, and Halazzi. It is only a matter of time before the rest of the bosses fall at our feet as well.

Calzowned continues to cruise along!  Last night we had a wonderfully smooth raid, downing HKM, Gruul and Void Reaver in under 3 hours.  We plan to head into Serpentshrine this weekend to expand our kill list.

Calzowned currently has room for a few more healers.  In particular we are looking for a couple of Resto Shaman and a Holy Paladin.

If you are looking for a casual time requirement guild who is serious when they raid, give us a look and drop us a line if interested!

It took us a little time practicing dodging wrenches, but Suldiar is quite the slave driver and eventually we were ready to give Void Reaver the what for! After downing Gruul in clean fashion, we strolled into The Eye and downed Void Reaver on our first attempt of the night. All it took was the sacrifice of a troll mage to guarantee our victory!

Afterwards we played a little ping-pong with A’lar. Chutoi got all excited when he heard there would be a buffet (fay), too bad all he got was a buffet (fet, as in Boba)  instead…

We’ll give this one some serious shots before long!

After our last attempt, we knew we would take down Gruul on our next attempt. We decided we wanted to do it as a guild though and without requiring the assistance (and headache) of working with another guild. So we took a few weeks from our joint attempt to fill out our roster and gear up more folks.

The end result?

We took Gruul down on our 5th attempt. And we destroyed HKM to boot. This is the first time Calzowned has tackled any of the 25 man content as a solo guild and it was a huge success. Everyone did a wonderful job, knew their roles and came prepared for victory. I see great things for us in the future!

As a guild, Calzowned has been clearing Karazhan (including Nightbane) weekly for a few weeks now. We have been working on getting our 2nd group up and running, with an eye on the 25 man content.

Last night we joined forces with OperationImpendingDoom to have a night of fun and games with High King Maulgar and Gruul.

On our very first time ever seeing these encounters, I am pleased to say we downed High King Maulgar on our 5th try and got Gruul to 20% on our 3rd try before calling it a night.

Calzowned is currently recruiting healers and caster DPS to fill out our roster to start hitting 25 man content. We are currently running 2 Kara groups and clear Kara weekly, however we don’t quite have the numbers to hit up the 25 mans.

We typically raid 2 - 3 nights per week, starting around 7 PM Server time. We are mature and fairly laid back. While most of us have a more casual schedule, when we do play and raid, we take our playtime seriously.

We are looking for those players who typically have less play time, but want to get the most from their when they do play. We are in need of mages, warlocks and/or shadow priests, as well as an additional 2 - 4 healers.
